Skonf is a web based configuration utility for Shinken. It stores the configuration items in a MongoDB distributed database. This makes it easier to manage, update and safeguard against data loss.

Shinken uses service templates assigned to hosts, permitting a host centric configuration. Business rules are also created and managed using host configurations. Making it intuitive and simple to manage host properties.

The skonf preview is included in the Shinken github daily snapshot. It is not yet intended to be a workhorse. For handling deployment and automation workload, the discovery process is the way to go.
